Cruzan hammers  .  on taut U. S. steel
morning sky unfurled  .  same as the last
beneath our feet  .  shells pinkly crunching
twining topology  .  each strangler fig
mahogany trees  .  standing darkly
at last  .  fiery trails in the northeast
