New license
I applied for renewal of my New Jersey driver's license
today. It was probably the worst day to go, one day before a whole batch
of licenses were due to expire, plus pent-up demand because of the long
weekend. But it turned out that I completed my task in just about an hour.
I brought my state sanctioned
six points
of identity verification in the form of a current U. S. passport, my
original NJ license, a health insurance card, and a recent credit card bill in
my name.
Now I have one of the
high-security licenses with
a optically readable digital code on the back, replacing the
easily forged
cards of the past. I kind of wish I had a UV source to see some of the anti-forgery
features on the thing.
