Frabjous Times

Animals in the suburbs.

Today after lunch we went to Flat Rock Brook Park in Englewood Cliffs, less than a mile from the George Washington Bridge to Manhattan.
Monarch butterfly
I saw a Monarch butterfly clinging to a plant. We went for a long ramble in the woods, and when we came back the insect was still there.
Wild turkeys in a yard
After we left, we saw a group of wild turkeys roaming around a suburban yard. As we watched from the car, the tom turkey did its strut and display, but unfortunately those pictures turned out all blurry. I've seen families of turkeys passing through the suburbs before, although not with this additional behavior as an attraction.
